I am having a hard time locating a 727 for my 360 which I plan to drop into my '73 Dart. A friend suggested that I look at pickup truck 727s, will this work with a 2 door vehicle?? If so what years will interchange or are modifications required? I also plan to use a floor shifter...Any help would be appreciated.

It will work just fine just get one from a 2wd a 4wd will also work if you change the tail shaft

As long as it's a 318/360 727 and has the long tailshaft it'll work. Have a look at a car transmission and compare where the linages go on to a truck one just in case some might not have revisions for that.
If it's from a 318 you'll have to either get a 360 torque converter, get a b&m flexplate or have the 360 weight added on.

If you intend to use a factory floor shifter, the truck tailhousing won't have the drilled boss for the bellcrank bracket.

One thing to look for since you want to use a floor shift is the mounting ears for the linkage bracket. Some truck trannys have the bracket, some do not. Same thing with cars actually. Good luck with your search, Barry
