How long do I need to prime the oil pump on a fresh rebuilt motor? (340)
I have a brass hex shaft on a 3/8" drill.
I'm getting 70 psi.

Should I see oil at the rocker shafts?

Thanks

its primed...as it comes up on pressure the relief spring bypasses the oil...sounds like yours is at 70psi. also if you were to go outside tomorrow and prime it again it would take a few revolutions of the pump to prime it again, due to the psi leaking down....

Have someone rotoate the crank while you turn the drill motor and the rockers will get oil as the holes in the cam line up with the holes in the oiling system.
Take it 'real' slow while you turn the drill motor.

Just a note: Be sure to cover your fenderwells with gratuitous rags as the oil will explode out when you turn that crank and everything lines up just right. I forgot and man whata mess on my new paint!!!
