Big Block

B/RB distributor gasket

Does anyone have a part number for the distributor opening on a B/RB/Hemi? I am not looking for the o-ring but the gasket that seals the distributor to the block. Anyone know of a source?

Summit Racing should have it....also, i am putting my motor back together and ordered a new valley pan with the gaskets,,,,and the distributor gasket you are talking about came with the package...bonus

this gasket, along with the O ring, comes wit hthe Fel-Pro valley tray gasket set...maybe u have a buddy that has one, and dosent even know it.

Well, this is a timely post.
I just pulled the lean burn distributor out of my 400 last night, and am getting ready to put the MP replacement in.

This is a 38k mile original engine, and I doubt that distributor had ever been out. There was no gasket, just an O-ring. There also is no gasket with the new distributor, just the O-ring.

Do all B/RB engines use a gasket? Is it necessary?

The proper o ring seals the distributor just fine. I don't use a gasket at that location and I don't believe Chrysler felt it was necessary on the o ringed distributors.

early distributors used a gasket , later they had the o ring .
