Whats the difference between the 2 piece and the one piece? I have a 70 cuda and am going to be in the market for new rotors soon. what does my car have and how do I tell the difference? And how much are rotors for this thing. I got a price of 196.00, that sounds a little high to me? Thanks.

Your Cuda will have the 2 piece rotors on it.The price on them is high as a Georgia Pine even if you find any! The difference is,your hub and rotor are 2 different pieces. The 73-up rotors have the hub cast into the rotors, hence the name unicast rotors. You could swap spindles to 73-up A or E body, and use your caliper adapters and probably come out cheaper. The unicast rotors are less apt to warp than the 2 piece.

I thought it was the other way around?? Hub and rotor was one unit on the early and they went to two piece later?

A few months ago I posted a message on rotor availability at Autozone-part #5306R-I paid $151.88 (tax included) for the pair. I know a couple of guys in my club got turned onto this and scored a few sets-nice rotors-made in America-25lbs a piece-don't know if their still available-these are for my 71 Cuda 440-6 good luck-Joe

Thats why i asked this question. someone had mentioned that autozone had 2 piece canada made rotor for 69.99? I have been pricing these things for 6 years now while the car had been apart and now its starting to come back together and I'm starting to round up all the new parts. I saw them for about 125 a piece in the past.

Marv...to answer your question about the A-body spindles fitting the Cuda, yes the 73-up A-body disc brake spindles will bolt right on.Sounds like the best bet would be to get the Autozone rotors. That's a good deal.If it works out for you and Swampwing,I'll go buy 2 of em myself to go on my 70 Challenger 340!Good luck

I didn't think you could get the original style '70-2 2 piece rotors anymore? Last time I checked, they were making them as one piece just with the smaller inner bearing for the 70-2 spindles. Shakerjoe, please let me know when you get your's as I will also buy an extra pair for my '70' Cuda. I bought a pair of NOS two piecers in Mopar boxes a while back, the left one even has the original left hand thread lugs! Pricey enough to where I don't want to use them...

Please keep us informed on this. This could be a real money saver for us with the early disc setup.

Autozone delivered. 69.99 plus tax will buy 1 70 rotor complete with inner and outer bearing races installed and 5 new right hand thread lugnuts.
These are 1 piece rotors similiar to the later units but with the required smaller bearing races. Rotor thickness is 1.008, minimum thickness is .940, 11" diameter.

I am waiting on a new grease seal and will have it installed tomorrow. Unfortunatly I pulled the nose off the car to do some headlight work, and I will not be able to drive it for a few more days.

All I need is fit and function. Does it require any specail parts? So this rotor is a one piece deal that fits where a 2 piece was?

All I need is fit and function. So do I.

Does it require any special parts? No.

So this rotor is a one piece deal that fits where a 2 piece was? Yes the height of the rotor from stud face to back is the same on the one and two piece rotors. Direct bolt on.

Lets see if I remember how to post. This shows a one and a two piece rotor next to each other.

The clean one is the new autozone rotor.
