are your clutch and brake pedals even or is your clutch lower than your brake pedal? my 70 340 swinger's pedals aren't even is that the way they are supposed to be?? if so just seems odd???

They should be even. Do you have the return spring from the throwout fork to the bellhousing? Sometimes this is the issue.
I've had alot of 4 speed cars that were that way. It usually takes some playing around with return springs and adjustment to get them even. Also check to see if it is up against the stop.

My 4-speed pedals aren't level. I been told the brake rod is not fully seated in the master cylinder. Might be your problem.

My clutch pedal rests a little higher than my brake pedal.

here is the solution to the riddle: power brake cars had the brake pedal lower than the clutch. the pedals were dead even on the manual brake cars.
