Race or Street? or both?
I prefer PTC out of Alabama http://ptcrace.com/ ask for Kenny Ford, Dynamic & Turbo Action have also supplied good Mopar converters.
Mopar Peformance is also offering some nice stuff. They are remans but I currently have one in my car and it works great, price is good also.
Got mine from Lawrence at: http://www.mopartsracing.com/

Got a 10 1/4" 2400 stall from Moparts connection for about $165. in my car.
3000 is pushing it on the street with heat buildup and if you have a loose converter.

Get freaky with Neal Chance bolt together!
Change your own stall speed, clean the internals and inspect without having to ship it off and have someone named Bubba say "Yup, looks okey doke ta me!".

I don't have the bolt together, but I DO have one of their 2500 stall units behind my BB. I've been really happy with it's performance.

I have ran coan and continental, and had great results with both. If i were to build another car, id go with either of them.

My experience with Coan has been fantastic. I was in a bind on time once, and they built and delivered a converter to me in 2 days, built to my specs, and it performed exactly as they said it would. My future purchases will be from them.

MM, no I have'nt tried ptc. I guess I am just happy with my Coan and Turbo Action units. PTC may be very good too. Do they build transmissions with parts you buy like say aluminum drums, bolt in srages, and such or do they make things like that themselves. I have one tranmision rebuilt by A&A and I won't use him Rick Allision again so I'm looking for a performance rebuild for my RR when I cross that bridge.

I have tried nearly every "name" converter out there. I get the best parts and service from PTC, hands down.
