Goodyear 28x9" on a Weld 15x7" with 4 1/2" backspacing. You have to trim the lips on the quarters. I also have 3/4" offset spring hangers which aren't necessary just added insurance. You could probably get away without them but, you might need a small wheel spacer

I got 235/60 tires mounted on 15x8 wheels with a 5" backspace. Like Dart340W2 said, you should trim the inside lip of the quarter for extra clearance.

I am running 255/60/15 with only 4.25 backspaceing (cop wheels). I had to roll the lip, with 4.5 spacing this would be perfect combo. 27" tall

17x8 mustang wheels with 245/45/17 will fit under a 68 Valiant-- 8 3/4 rear with long studs and 3/4 inch spacers. Watch for spacers to be available soon from 451Boy
Gonna try 255/40's Yeah!

"i guess then a 15x8 wheel w/ 4.5 back spacing"
This will more than likely put the sidewall of the tire into the 1/4 panel, unless you "massage" the panel some .

235/60 x 14 on Centerlines with 3 1/2" backspacing and Hoosier 9.5 x 15 on custom made wheels with 4 1/8" backspacing, 4 1/2" backspacing will work and I've seen 275 with a 4 1/2" backspacing.
I've got a set of painted wheels 14 x 4.5" front and 15 x 7 rear and a set of 14 x 6" and 15 x 7 rear Cragar SS all on small bolt pattern for sale.

235/60/14 on 14x6 Ansen slotmags with 4 1/2" backspacing--no rubbing at all, on the back of a 72 Swinger. With 215/60 on the front, has a neat rake to it!
