I bought tha car in 1998 and have been racing it in IHRA Stock since 1999. The 360/300hp Commando engine was built by Dwayne Hagle/Racing Products of Ocklawaha, FL using KB Pistons, ROL Gaskets, Cloyes timing chain, Pioneer products and Amsoil lubricants. A K&N filter directs air in and Hedman Hedders direct it out. Trans is a JW 904 with an 8 3/4" rear end. Autometer gauges monitor the engine and the car rides on Holeshot wheels and Phoenix race tires. Race weight in current J/CM is 3,478+ lbs.
Originally a Duster, it was converted to a Dart Sport mainly to take advantage of the hood scoop option but I also prefer Dodges.. *First Mopar crate motor combo to win IHRA national and divisional events. *Top Mopar in IHRA Stock last 3 years: (#3 in 1999, #5 in 2000, #3 in 2001) *Record holder with a best ET of 11.587 @ 113.73 mph.
It's not a "show" car, but it gets the job done. It takes a lot of time, money, effort and sacrifice to run Stock, but the travel, people and results have been worth it! Area ET bracket events are also attended when time allows.
